The Gates

Slated to debut this Saturday, February 12th (weather permitting, says the website), The Gates by Christo and Jean-Claude is an installation of 7500 free hanging saffron colored fabric panels measuring 16 feet high with a width varying from 5' 6" to 18 feet that will follow the edges of the walkways and will be perpendicular to the selected 23 miles of footpaths in Central Park.
Installation of this enormous piece has already begun and it will only show for 2 weeks. A mighty undertaking for such a short viewing. Don't miss it.
February 12th - February 27th.
hey! i just heard about this today! it looks pretty awesome in the pic. they really do seem to be going through alot of trouble for a short exhibition. i will definately check it out. thanks for reminding. :-)
